Continuum Movement Workshop 7-10pm (numbers limited) Friends Meeting House, Lancaster.
With Jane Okondo - authorized Continuum Movement teacher. We will awaken our experience of fluidity and movement within and around us. Through exploring the different fluid systems within our body, we can access a deeper experience of ourselves.
We will move from a more outward focus and enter into the soft ripples of movement within our tissue, through Continuum breath and fluid movement. We learn how the support of “ground” invigorates our tissue and experience movement at the micro level. As we slow down we become more receptive and can perceive how our body is communicating to us through undulating spirals of sensation and movement that invigorates and nourishes every cell. Experience how moving from a fluid awareness frees both our body and our creativity.
Cost: £25 individual workshop. Bring: Blanket. Water. Notebook. To book contact Alys: 07813 800540, alysjenkins[AT]yahoo.co.uk

Breath Session Group 4-7pm St Paul's Parish Hall (upstairs room), Scotforth Road (opposite St Paul's church), Lancaster. Cost is £20 / £15 concessions (sliding scale). "Using a technique called "Conscious Connected Breathing" or "Circular Breathing" it is possible to access subconsciously stored memories, unexpressed emotions or any other material that is held in the body's psychophysical system. Relaxing and deepening the breath in this way dissolves the tension in the body and helps to reveal and release the emotional holding patterns and trauma held in body/mind. Re-experienced, expressed and integrated these experiences and memories cease to have an emotional grip on life expression, allowing us to live more consciously and empowered."
Please bring a blanket and a pillow and anything else you need to be comfortable.
Please book in advance as spaces are limited. Call Jorg Haesen on 01524 62145. We will be there from 3.30 pm, so you can come earlier if you want to chat or help with setting up.
A great opportunity to release blocked energy and emotions, and to recharge your batteries in a friendly and supportive space. One to One Breath Sessions are available by prior arrangement.

11 Levens Choir at ElyLevens Choir Perform the Monteverdi Vespers of 1610 at Lancaster Cathedral. Sung by the Levens Choir with the Early Baroque Band. 8pm. Tickets £10/£9; students and children free. Experts continue to disagree about whether Monteverdi’s work is a single composition and the order in which the various sections were originally intended to be performed; even the ideal size and make-up of the choir and orchestra remain contentious. There is no definitive published edition of the work so that each performance is an individual interpretation. Despite all of this confusion the piece has attained an iconic status amongst choirs--both professional and amateur, and many singers and music lovers rank it alongside the Bach Passions and Handel's 'Messiah'. The use of period instruments - cornetts, trombones, violins, chitaronne and chamber organ – will allow the band to recapture as closely as possible the sound as well as the spirit expected by the early composers and heard by their audiences. The setting and acoustics of Lancaster Cathedral are extremely well-suited to music of this period and will provide the perfect background for the Levens Choir and the Early Baroque Band. Tickets for the Lancaster concert can be purchased at the door, from Lancaster Visitor Information (01524 582394) and Cathedral House (01524 384820). events[AT]lancastercathedral.org.uk

"Ki (or Chi) is universal energy that flows freely when Body, Mind and Emotions are equally involved in our actions. Ki Training offers the chance to experience a state of free awareness, unhindered by preconceptions and prejudice, allowing us to deal with challenging situations freely, effortlessly and without fear.
Training with a Japanese wooden sword (bokken) develops our natural ability to be fully present, unattached and decisive in the face of challenging or threatening situations. As a result these qualities tend to emerge more and more in everyday life where indecision and ambiguity give way to increased confidence, clarity and playfulness." No previous experience necessary.
