The Dukes, Moor Lane, Lancaster LA1 1QE,

A playful riot of dance, performance, energy, giggles and lots of chalk dust is set to entertain children at The Dukes.

The Chit Chat Chalk Show, performed twice on February 10, is packed with interaction as children are invited to get stuck in, sit amongst the performers and play an integral role in this fun-filled show for 3 to 8-year-olds. But when the dust settles, the more serious message behind The Chit Chat Chalk Show will emerge.

Devised by two of the freshest young contemporary dance and physical theatre companies in the UK - Hawk Dance Theatre and The Knotted Project - the show cleverly delivers a powerful message about just how important it is for children to talk about their feelings. The Knotted Project’s Simon McElligott said: “The show revolves around a young girl who experiences being an ‘outsider’ but how her life becomes colourful again through building new friendships, allowing her to embrace the world she now lives in.”

Performances take place at 1.30pm and 4.30pm and are part of The Dukes biggest season of family entertainment which also includes: Penguins (February 13-14); The Owl And The Pussycat (February 24); Me And My Bee (May 12) and More Magic For Kids(May 29).

All tickets for family shows are £7.20 or a season ticket costing £21.60 will buy four shows for the price of three.
