No pre-booking is normally necessary for individuals attending these tours.  ​ Unless stated otherwise, our public walking tours normally depart from Lancaster Castle’s main entrance – the John O’Gaunt Gatehouse - on Wednesday afternoons at 2pm and last around 90 minutes.   

Adults - £5 per person  Students & Under 16s - £4 per person

2000 years of history are explored in this tour looking at the development of Lancaster from a northern Roman outpost to a city boasting two universities.

Around the anniversary of their trial & execution, we take a look at one of England’s most famous stories of witchcraft and the part Lancaster played in the fate of the notorious ‘Pendle Witches’.
