In the Ashton Hall, Lancaster Town Hall, on Saturday 6th April, Lancaster and District Choral Society will present a concert to delight Mozart and Vivaldi fans.

With a large orchestra conducted by John Perrin and led by Julian Cann, this large choir will perform Mozart’s Requiem and Vivaldi’s Gloria — both firm favourites.

Soprano Emily Robinson, making a welcome return, performs Exsultate Jubilate composed by the very young Mozart. This stunning work is a favourite of sopranos worldwide, especially its final-movement Alleluia.

Vivaldi’s Gloria — a joyful hymn of praise and worship movements — ranges from festive brilliance to profound sadness, part concerto, part opera. It’s one of sacred music’s most uplifting choral works.

MD John Perrin will perform Bach’s dramatic Toccata and Fugue in D Minor on the amazing Ashton Hall Organ.

Mezzo Soprano Anna Burford, Tenor Christopher Littlewood and Bass Peter Edge — 3 more young but distinguished soloists — join with LDCS in what promises to be an exciting evening.
