A Magical Christmas at Morecambe Festival Market

Festival Market, Morecambe LA4 4DW

The Festival Market in Morecambe is hosting a Christmas celebration with all the seasonal trimmings and a decent sprinkling of magic.

Guaranteed to get your Christmas shopping off to a fabulous festive start, there'll be additional stalls selling unique gifts and stocking fillers, festive fayre and competitions including a charity mince pie and biscuit bake off.

The bake off will be open to two categories - biscuits - up to 15 years old, and mince pies - 16+.  There will be prizes for first and second places in each age group.

The competition will be judged by special guest the Mayor of Lancaster, Coun Roger Mace.  The mince pies and biscuits will then be sold at the market and proceeds donated to one of the mayoral charities, the Morecambe branch of the RNLI.

To set the traditional Christmas scene there will be brass bands playing seasonal tunes and other attractions.

Meet the market’s very own Hedwig, look out for the Elf on the Shelf or take part in the world of magic treasure hunt to win some fabulous prizes.  Enter into the spirit and turn up to the market dressed as a wizard or witch and you could be in with a chance of winning a mystery spot prize.

The Elf on the Shelf competition will run until December 23.  Everyone is invited to come along to the market to try and catch him getting up to mischief at different locations every day.  Take an ’elfie’ with him and post it on the market’s Facebook page to be in with a chance of winning a prize.

For more information and entry forms for the charity mince pie and biscuit bake off visit or download it here.

Santa’s Grotto

Santa will be arriving in his sleigh at 11am on the day for the grand opening of his grotto.  For just £2.50, children will be able to visit Father Christmas as soon as he has settled in and receive a gift.

The Grotto will be open every weekend until Christmas.

As from November 26, you’ll also be able to enjoy parking for free every Sunday on the council’s pay and display car parks in Morecambe which includes the Festival Market car park. (But not the adjacent car park occupied by the open-air market, which is privately owned).
