Origins - 5 Rhythms Dance Weekend

St Paul's Parish Hall, Scotforth Rd, Lancaster LA1 4ST
Christopher Boylan

Saturday 1pm - 7.30pm
Sunday 11.45am - 5.45pm

Our past makes us all. Where we came from, where we begin from. The past can imprison or inform us. How do we move when we are held by our past? How do we express the past? How do we let go? What comes after?

This weekend is a simple movement investigation. We will dance. We will play with starting and stopping. We will bring our stories into movement. We will see if we can let go of destination and slip into our intuitive sense of direction.

We will dance until the past no longer holds us. Arriving in the moment. Every breath a new beginning. A place of vivid presence where we can directly experience the interconnection of all things. Returning to our true origins. Returning to the source.

5 Rhythms is a simple, deep movement practice suitable for all abilities. No steps or routines. Great fun; a dynamic way of opening those parts of us which we have lost, closed or not yet opened. All are welcome. Our host is Christopher Boylan, an accredited teacher who has been studying 5Rhythms since 1999 and teaching since 2008, he is currently training in the 5 Rhythms Heartbeat map.
