Potato Day

Friends Meeting House, Lancaster LA1 1TX

A celebration of local community projects, people and food.

Everyone is welcome, entry is free, 27 varieties of seed potatoes will be on sale, and food will be provided by Lancaster's Peoples Cafe.

The Lancaster People's Cafe provides dishes prepared from intercepted food. Pay as you feel. 

Other stalls and activities include: Claver Hill's preserves and no dig films, seed swap with Lancaster Seed Library, Tool Library, Sewing Cafe fixing workshop, Landworkers' Alliance, Herbal Medicines, Vegan Food and Climate, Transition approaches to death and dying, Forest Friends project, Natural Beekeeping, woodland crafts, anti fracking campaign. 


Lancastrians celebrate the start of the planting season in January with Potato Day, and the harvest in October with Apple Day, both promoting diversity of varieties.
