Dr Fiona Edmonds, from the History department at Lancaster University, talks about: 'Heysham and the Irish Sea Region in the Viking Age'.

Find out more about the different regions, kingdoms, languages and networks in the viking-age, one of the most complex periods in the History of the North West.

Learn how the Irish Sea played a crucial role in the viking-age and connected Heysham to the viking world.

Howard Williams, Professor of Archaeology at the University of Chester, will be talking about: 'What we don't know about the Heysham Hogback'.

Come and see Heysham's hogback stone and learn more about these mysterious viking-age stone monuments. Learn how and why the vikings used stone sculpture and monuments as objects of memory.

Tickets £3 each (limited availability) - if you register as 'going' we will guarantee your tickets until 12pm on festival day, where you can pay for them at the information point. After 12pm, all remaining tickets will be available on a first come, first served basis.
