WW1 Exhibition: Boomtown - From Front Line to White Lund

Lancaster City Museum, Market Square, Lancaster LA1 1HT

This exhibition marks the centenary of devastating explosions at White Lund National Filling Factory 1-3 October 1917.

It runs until 12 November 2017

It explores the need for supplies and shells for front line troops, focussing on the local King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment; the building of shell-making and filling factories on Lancaster and Morecambe; war work and changes it brought to the district; the explosions and remarkable acts of bravery that saved so many lives at the works and around the area.
