Salt Ayre Leisure Centre

Following a £5m refurbishment (2017) Salt Ayre boasts a wide range of high quality indoor, water and outdoor facilities & activities for all ages and fitness levels. We also offer an extra programme of exciting supervised activities for children through the school holidays. 

Lancaster Castle

Be prepared, this is no ruin. Owned by the Queen, until 2011 Lancaster Castle was a fully functioning seat of judgement and retribution, and still contains the local County Court. It's free to enter and offers festivals, tours, theatre, re-enactment, music, children's activities, souvenirs and cafe.

Lancaster City Museum

This splendid museum's collections illustrate the rich history and archaeology of the city of Lancaster, from the Romans to the present day. It features regularly changing exhibitions and a programme of fun events and activities for families. It is also home to The King's Own Regiment museum. 

The Exchange Creative Community

A community-driven creative hub that uses art and creativity as a means to grow community wellbeing, aspiration and enterprise, based in the heart of Morecambe's West End. The Exchange is a vibrant hub for art, craft, multimedia and creativity with classes, community events and exhibitions.  

The Platform, Morecambe

The Platform is Morecambe’s main events and entertainment venue, in the old Promenade Railway Station. It hosts a strong touring programme from jazz and blues to world music, folk and classical and also an extensive range of workshops, recitals, lectures, sequence dances and community events.

The Centre @ Halton

A vibrant and welcoming community centre in the heart of Halton, offering indoor and outdoor facilities, with a fantastic skate park. We have a huge number of classes and activities, from sports and exercise to community activities and events for all ages. We also have a friendly and popular cafe.  

Roman Bath-House

Roman Bath-House, Vicarage Field, Lancaster. Telephone: 01524 64637. Discovered and excavated in 1973-4, the Roman bath-house in Vicarage Field, Lancaster, formed one end of a large courtyard house, probably the home of a Roman official. 

Cottage Museum

Cottage Museum, 15 Castle Hill, Lancaster LA1 1YS. Tel. 01524 64637. The museum provides an intimate glimpse of early Victorian life in a tiny and intriguing 18th-century cottage spread over 5 floors. You may even get to meet the Victorian housekeeper!

Sizergh Castle & Garden

It features a pond, lake, wildlife, national collection of ferns and superb limestone rock garden. Café, shop, events. 

Leighton Hall

A stunning location for wedding ceremonies, corporate events and hosted group activities for schools and societies; attractive gardens, rolling parkland and the hall itself; great for family visits and a dramatic setting for film and TV shoots. 

The Forest of Bowland AONB

Lancaster Cemetery

Quernmore Road, Lancaster, Lancashire LA1 3JT. T. 01524 582635. Lancaster Cemetery is one of 7 cemeteries operated by Lancaster City Council. It has 3 (currently unused) cemetery chapels, all designed by the prominent local architect Edward Paley in c 1855. Tours in Summer  

The Butterfly House

Williamson Park's original Edwardian Palm House now houses an ever-changing display of tropical butterflies. Walk amongst some of the world's most beautiful tropical species, including brilliant Swallowtails and cleverly camouflaged Owl butterflies, within a natural habitat.
