Salt Ayre Leisure Centre

Following a £5m refurbishment (2017) Salt Ayre boasts a wide range of high quality indoor, water and outdoor facilities & activities for all ages and fitness levels. We also offer an extra programme of exciting supervised activities for children through the school holidays. 

Lancaster Castle

Be prepared, this is no ruin. Owned by the Queen, until 2011 Lancaster Castle was a fully functioning seat of judgement and retribution, and still contains the local County Court. It's free to enter and offers festivals, tours, theatre, re-enactment, music, children's activities, souvenirs and cafe. 

Judges' Lodgings

Lancaster's oldest town house, once home to Thomas Covell, Keeper of Lancaster Castle during Lancashire's infamous witch trials in 1612, and later lodgings for the 'Hanging' judges at the Assize Courts. Including the Museum of Childhood and an Edwardian school room — there's something for everyone!

1st Feb to 30th March. Gallery One — open every Fri and Sat 11 – 5:30 or by appointment Exhibition of miniature paintings by Ellie Moore. Miniatures ask the viewer to peer in as if through a keyhole, and give all their attention to the miniature scene through the tiny aperture of the frame.  

Original Voice of The Love Affair Steve Ellis & The Norman Beaker Band

50 years after Steve Ellis shot to stardom with the Love Affair hit "Everlasting Love", he's released an album on SONY and performing full live shows! He's teamed up with Blues Hall of Fame British Legend Norman Beaker & Band, to present a full R&B Show at Darwen Library Theatre. 

Lancaster Eco-Alliance Project (LA1)

Local FB eco-group Love Life, Love Lancaster is running a campaign (Apr-Aug) to promote local shops that take in clean shopping bags/tubs to reuse. You can check out the already participated shops here.  

Halton Social Club

More Music (the Hothouse)

More Music is a community music and education charity based in the West End of Morecambe, working throughout Lancashire, the North West and internationally. We provide a year round programme that covers a breadth of music making activity involving people of all ages and all backgrounds. 

Wyresdale Park Co-Working Barns and Artist Studios

Listed stone barns in the idyllic grounds of Wyresdale Park have been transformed into an open plan co-working loft-studio for designated desk/ studio spaces.  

Lancaster City Museum

This splendid museum's collections illustrate the rich history and archaeology of the city of Lancaster, from the Romans to the present day. It features regularly changing exhibitions and a programme of fun events and activities for families. It is also home to The King's Own Regiment museum. 

The Exchange Creative Community

A community-driven creative hub that uses art and creativity as a means to grow community wellbeing, aspiration and enterprise, based in the heart of Morecambe's West End. The Exchange is a vibrant hub for art, craft, multimedia and creativity with classes, community events and exhibitions.  

The Platform, Morecambe

The Platform is Morecambe’s main events and entertainment venue, in the old Promenade Railway Station. It hosts a strong touring programme from jazz and blues to world music, folk and classical and also an extensive range of workshops, recitals, lectures, sequence dances and community events.  

King Street Art Gallery and Artist Studios

King Street Studios have two gallery spaces with a regular changeover of exhibitions. We are located upstairs at 5a King Street, opp Waterstones in Lancaster City Centre. We also have a regular programme of workshops and events featuring artist talks, drawing, writing & painting.

Dr Buck Ruxton was undoubtedly Lancaster’s most sensational twentieth-century murderer. The murders are famous because of the application of then new methods of forensic science to their solution. A man of science himself, Ruxton would have been one of the few then capable of understanding them.
