Aims of the Service

  • to provide the advice people need for the problems they face
  • to improve the policies and practices that affect people's lives

Principles of the Service

The service which the Citizens Advice Bureau offers is:

  • Free — We offer a free service to all our clients
  • Confidential — Nothing about a client is revealed outside of the Bureau without the client's permission.
  • Impartial — The service is available to everyone regardless of race, sexuality, gender, religion or disability.
  • Independent — We offer our service to all our clients independent of any funding body.

North Lancashire Citizens Advice Bureau relies on volunteers to deliver the service, which aims to provide the advice people need for the problems they face, and to improve the policies and practices that affect people’s lives. There is a rising demand from the public and extending access to the service has become a priority. The Bureau recruits and trains volunteer receptionist/information assistants, gateway interviewers, advisers, administrators, social policy workers and trustees.
