The Forest Friends Project is a new project to provide opportunities for everyone to learn more about and get involved in the practical management of local urban woodlands.  It is a partnership of local organisations Lancaster Greenspaces and Independent-me

There will be a practical activity day every Thursday, working in woods in Lancaster, Morecambe, Carnforth and Heysham.  The work will include coppicing, footpath improvements, grassland management and litter removal.  There will also be an opportunity for learning about wildife and the practical skills needed to help it.

Other day events will include bird box building, family Easter trail, tree planting and litter pick.

The project has been made possible by grants from Postcode Local Trust, a grant giving charity funded entirely by players of People's Postcode Lottery and the Woodland Trust.
