If you are retired or semi-retired, keen to learn new things and live within a reasonable distance of Lancaster, then Lancaster and Morecambe U3A has a lot to offer you. Perhaps you would like to learn a language, sing in a choir, study science, art or music or walk in the beautiful local countryside with friends.

With over 1,000 members and around 65 interest groups covering a wide range of subjects, the Lancaster and Morecambe U3A offers all this and much more.

U3A members participate in a shared learning experience, to which all contribute. The social side of life is also well covered. Each interest group is led or co-ordinated by one or more of its own members. Activities can be academic, practical or purely for relaxation. Or even all three.

You can just come along and follow your interests. If you want to get more involved then there is a host of jobs to be done from leading groups, arranging trips or sitting on the Committee to helping to produce and deliver our monthly diary and newsletter.

Membership is open to all those who are no longer in full-time employment. There are no entrance requirements and people of all backgrounds, ethnicity and beliefs are equally welcome.

The Lancaster and Morecambe U3A is a self-help, voluntary organisation with no religious or political affiliations. It is an independent, self-governing, charitable body run by a committee drawn from the membership. It is affiliated to the Third Age Trust which brings together U3As throughout Britain and is itself part of a world-wide movement.
