CCTV appeal after man is assaulted in Morecambe shop

Police have issued a CCTV image of a man they need to speak with after a shopkeeper was assaulted in Morecambe.

The incident took place around 7.00pm on Tuesday 21st May at Body 'n Soul on Regent Road in Morecambe when the shopkeeper was involved in an altercation with a man who has hit him in the face. Fortunately the victim, who is 34, was uninjured.

The offender is described as a being white, aged in his late 30s or early 40s, 5ft 10inches tall, with short grey hair. He was wearing a blue denim shirt, dark blue jeans and trainers. The offender smelt of alcohol and had a Staffordshire bull terrier dog.

Sergeant Guy Hamlett said: “I’d appeal to anybody that recognises the man in the CCTV image to contact Lancashire police on 101 quoting log number LC-20130521-1332.”
