Lancaster City Council is offering a number of pitches for free this summer to anyone introducing something new and exciting to Lancaster's popular street market.

You would be joining an historic trading tradition if you do. The Charter Market was first established in 1193 to be the trading heart of the local community. It is a bustling street-market that can be found every Wednesday and Saturday at the very centre of the city.

The offer of free pitches applies to Wednesday trading only and for commodities other than takeaway food. So if that's something you'd like to try out - this is a great opportunity.

Pitches are limited so early applications are advised.
