More Music’s hugely popular annual free kite festival on the weekend of 24 + 25 June is one of the best family weekend events this summer, perfect to bring your family and friends, and a kite (or get or make one here!), and enjoy a very special trip to the seaside.

There will be spectacular exhibition kites, strange flying shapes and wind-borne art, stunt and team displays, workshops, arts and kite-making for children and adults, live music, DJs, and all the fun of the seaside, absolutely free! There will be street entertainers and street bands, stalls selling affordable kites of all shapes and sizes, street food and bouncy castles - it's always a great day out.

The entertainment takes place on the Promenade, with  a stage in front of The Platform (Morecambe's old railways station, now a venue), with a great view of the iconic Midland Hotel, and DJ decks by the beach.

Enjoy free live music and entertainment plus craft fair + workshops, great food and kids' activities inside and outside the Platform and the Morecambe Winter Gardens. For the full two-day programme of live music and entertainment visit:

To get the weekend to a flying start, Friday 24 June will also see the The Catch The Wind Ceilidh at More Music (13-17 Devonshire Road, Morecambe LA3 1QT) with foot-flying music from Price of My Pig.
