Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision last weekend in which a cyclist and motorcyclist were seriously injured.

The 43 year old motorcyclist was airlifted to Royal Preston Hospital with chest and head injuries and the 46 year old cyclist was taken to Royal Lancaster Infirmary with two fractured legs. Both are now in a stable condition.

PS 882 Nigel Ralphson, of the Roads Policing Unit, said: “This collision occurred on the main road with a cycleway adjacent to where it happened. I believe there may have been people in the area at the time of the collision and I would urge them to get in touch if they witnessed what happened.

“Fortunately both men involved are now recovering well in hospital and we are continuing our enquiries to establish exactly how the collision came to occur.”
