Make My Day Festival Coming to Morecambe

Chris Satori

Make My Day! is a FREE festival jam-packed with creative activities that will take place in the West End Gardens on Morecambe’s beautiful promenade, on Sunday 6th August from 12 noon ’til 5pm.

Come along, and join in! Grab a bundle of recycled wood and a hammer and get building, or pick up a brush and help to fill in our giant paint-by-numbers. With junk-modelling, placard printing and mini-boat making on offer too - there’ll be lots and lots to see and do. No experience necessary! All activities will be supervised by our friendly team of artists and makers and are suitable for everyone to try.

There will be also a sand-play area, pop-up community cinema, pop up games and walkabout shows.

Entertainment includes a duo of dancing jellyfish, a troupe of Lancashire Cloggers and an orchestra of flutes… And watch out! Punch & Judy will be on the loose, daring unsuspecting passers-by to rise (ahem) to the Great Deckchair Challenge.

Event organiser, Kate Drummond, said:
“I want the event to be welcoming and fun, a festival for kids and families providing free, inspiring activities and entertainment right in the middle of the summer holidays - at a time when many families are looking for interesting and affordable ways to spend time together.”

“I’m looking forward to seeing all the amazing things that people make, and can’t wait to see the park buzzing with activity.”

Make My Day! will be joyful, enjoyable and fun for all. Bring the kids! Bring their grandparents! Come along and help us fill the park with wonderful creations - we’ll be there whatever the weather! And tell your friends - use the hashtag #mmdmorecambe and let everyone know all about it…
