Michael Portillo to share his story live in Morecambe

Author:
John Freeman

Former Conservative Party MP Michael Portillo will present “Life: A Game of Two Halves” live at The Platform in Morecambe on Monday 12th November.

It took Michael Portillo little more than 10 years to get a seat in the Commons and then rise in power and esteem to a point where he was a favoured leader of his party and possible future PM.

A track record like that suggests a privileged friend of the rich and famous, but since leaving the house almost a decade ago Michael has endeared himself to many with his obvious respect for solid workmanship, as found in our great Victorian Railways and the daily life of ordinary hard working citizens.

Audiences in Morecambe can now listen to his story, told with a “parliamentary stand-up” wit, and then feel free to question him about it afterwards.

• “Life: A Game of Two Halves” starts at 7.30pm on Monday November 12 at The Platform. Tickets cost £17.50 each and are available from Lancaster and Morecambe Visitor Information Centres, online at www.lancaster.gov.uk/platform or by calling the box office on 01524 582803.
