Opera Highlights to be Performed at Lancaster Cathedral

The Encore Opera Group will perform selections from several of the very best-loved operas in Lancaster Cathedral on Friday 22nd October at 7:30pm.

Encore’s concert will feature numerous operatic favourites, including The Hebrew Slaves’ Chorus from Nabucco, the Finale from Act I of Don Giovanni, the Toreador’s Song from Carmen and the Pearl Fishers Duet. Pieces from Samson & Delilah, La Bohème and Dvořák’s Rusalka will round off a programme sure to please devoted opera lovers, but also perfect for newcomers looking for an introduction to the highlights of this dramatic musical form.

Based in south Cumbria, the Encore Opera group has been providing audiences with memorable performances of live opera since 1992. The group consists of ten talented singers who regularly take part in full-scale operatic productions. The Cathedral will provide a suitably dramatic backdrop and there will be plenty of musical high notes for opera fans of all ages.
