Dog lovers are being invited to sign up to a very special charity event in Williamson Park in aid of local families affected by cancer & life limiting conditions.
‘Bark in the Park’ - organised by Lancaster based charity CancerCare - is 4km Walk, Fun Dog Show and Family Scavenger Quest with a St George’s Day theme. There will also be an opportunity for participants to put their pooches to the test in the G-Whizz Agility Course and get creative in the Shield & Helmet-Making session.
It will take place on Sunday 23rd April at the bottom of the Ashton Memorial steps. Registration is at 11am.
The Fun Dog Show starts off the event at 12 noon with rosettes and prizes for the winners. This year’s categories will include Best Rescue; Best Puppy (under 6 months); Waggiest Tail; Best Biscuit Catcher; Best Costume Dog & Owner, and will finish with Best in Show.
The walk will follow at 1:30 with the Agility Course, Shield & Helmet-Making and Scavenger Quest running throughout the day.
Event sponsors Lanes Vets will be on hand with their Little Pet Ambulance and will also be providing a free dog chipping service, kids face painting, a cake stall and lots more!
There’s also the chance to meet and greet dogs from Lancaster’s Animal Care Re-homing Centre and take part in our doggie tombolas.
