Special Offers at the Dukes provide opportunities for all

Chris Satori

The Lancaster theatre’s Christmas Give appeal, which took place during The Dukes recordbreaking run of Aladdin, raised £2,810. The Christmas Give coincided with the launch of The Dukes new-look Supporters programme and the introduction of Dukes Champions.

The proceeds of the Appeal will help to enable The Dukes, which is a registered charity, to provide opportunities for people from all backgrounds to benefit from a wide programme of activities.

In the past year, more than 6,700 people joined The Dukes community programmes and 4,680 people participated in dementia friendly activities in addition to the thousands of people who visited purely to be entertained.

The Dukes Fundraising Officer, Verity Henderson said: “Thanks to everyone who gave to our Christmas campaign. The Dukes very much appreciates all the generous donations and we are hugely grateful to the many people who support us throughout the year as Friends, Champions, Patrons and Guardians. They help ensure that we don’t just survive but thrive and we couldn’t do what we do without them.”

For £5 a month, Dukes Champions receive two free cinema tickets; £1 off The Dukes homegrown productions and cinema tickets; discounts on all touring productions and in the Cafe Bar; a 35% discount on the popular NT Live screenings; a 50% theatre discount for Supporters priority evenings; free Secrets of the Stage events; a newsletter and priority mailing and booking.

Among other ways to support The Dukes and help reduce its dependence on diminishing government and local authority funding, are to become a Film Friend (£25 a year); a Friend (from £3.25 a month); a Patron (from £15 per month) or a Guardian (from £85 a month).
