Vintage by the Sea 2017 arriving in style!

Chris Satori

Vintage By The Sea returns to Morecambe in the first weekend of September for a fourth season, to celebrate the brilliance of 20th century design, fashion, vehicles and entertainment with a special focus on the British seaside - it's a free, family friendly festival that saw over 40,000 visitors attend in 2015.

The fantastic setting of Morecambe’s seafront provides the backdrop that transforms into a multi-venue playground where, visitors can learn the dances, take in specially curated live performances, listen to exclusive DJ sets, enjoy evocative fashion, brilliantly conceived food and cocktails, ogle over beautiful vintage vehicles or take advantage of the decade-specific hair and beauty makeovers and all the wonderful vintage shopping that will be on offer.

There will be free rides in heritage buses departing evey half hour along the prom on Saturday  - one of which will provide transport to Arnside for a specially themed vintage costume Cross Bay Walk with Queen's Guide Cedric Robinson and and Vintage Fest co-founder, Wayne Hemingway.

The beautiful art deco Midland Hotel plays host to a roaring 20s Gatsby-inspired Torch Club Ball and elegantly authentic Afternoon Teas – call 01524 428370 to find out more.

The Official Vintage Party - 45 Live with Templebys and Boca 45 will offer rockin’ funk, soul, hip hop, boogaloo, latin, breaks and beats all Saturday night in the Little Big Top just behind the hotel – make sure you buy your tickets in advance!

There will be a Vintage Market at the Midland,  roaming street theatre, Vintage-making workshops and the Bradford to Morecambe Vintage Vehicles Car Rally will be arriving too.

It’s the wonderfully glamorous guys and gals of Morecambe and the visitors from miles around that make #VintagebytheSea such a visual and atmospheric feast. The festival provides a peerless palette of street styles and spotters will be on the hunt for the best looks from kitsch to deco glam, with inspiration from Mary Quant to the mods. Ladies, gents and families - this is a show for you all!  With a new catwalk location and the glamorous backdrop of the iconic 1930s Midland Hotel, Vintage Festival judges will crown the weekend's true Vintage royalty.
