10/12/16: Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in Carnforth on Thursday (8th December 2016). At around 1.15pm an 18-year-old learner driver in a Citroen C1 was waiting to turn right from the A6 at the junction of Tarn Lane and Nineteen Acre Lane when a Mercedes C180 saloon car collided with the back of it.

Bogus caller warning after senior citizens robbed in Carnforth and Slyne

9/2/16: Detectives are urging homeowners to be vigilant following several reports of bogus callers. who appear to be targeting senior citizens and stealing money. Around 1.00pm on Monday 1st February, a man approached an address in Carnforth claiming he was owed money for work he carried out on the property’s chimney.

Appeal after £70,000 of alcohol stolen from Carnforth haulage firm

8/11/13: Police are appealing for information following a burglary at a haulage firm in Carnforth where £70,000 worth of alcohol was stolen. The burglary took place sometime between 6.30pm on Friday 1st November and 9am on Sunday 3rd November at the small family run haulage company in Tewitfield.

Appeal after pedestrian is seriously injured in Carnforth accident

2/10/13: Police are appealing for information after a pedestrian was hit by a car in Carnforth last week. The collision occurred at around 10.05pm on Friday 27th September on Scotland Road in Carnforth when a silver Ford Mondeo, which was travelling towards Lancaster from Carnforth, collided with the man, who was stood in the road.

Jewellery and gold stolen in Carnforth

14/11/12: Detectives are appealing for information after thousands of pounds worth of jewellery, gold bullion and platinum was stolen from a jewellery shop in Carnforth. Macmillan-Clare Designer Goldsmiths at Greenlands Farm Village, Tewitfield was targeted around 8.30pm on Wednesday 7th November 2012. At this stage, it is not known whether one person was involved or whether it was a group of people.

Woodland improvement scheme seeks local backers

9/10/12: Lancashire County Council is appealing to landowners and businesses in Lancaster to join a woodland scheme which has already helped to boost tree cover at a local caravan park. The Lancashire Woodlands Project helps landowners access funds to plant new woods and look after existing ones to improve wildlife, timber production, and people's enjoyment of the countryside.

Police release CCTV image in hunt for shoplifting suspect

18/7/12: Police appealing for information following a shoplifting incident in Carnforth have released a CCTV image of a man they want to trace. The offender entered the Tesco store in Lodge Quarry, Carnforth, at 2.50pm on 18th June as a prospective customer and filled the trolley with goods before leaving the store without making any payment.

Thousands of valium tablets seized in Carnforth raid

16/7/12: Police seized several thousand valium tablets after carrying out a raid at a Carnforth home. Support unit officers executed a drugs warrant at West View, Carnforth, shortly after 11.30am on Thursday 12th July. The tablets were found inside the property. A 34-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class C drugs.

Police investigate kayak theft in Carnforth

16/7/12: Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after thieves stole a kayak from a secluded canal bank in Carnforth. The distinctive, 9ft by 2ft, kayak was left tied to the bank by the owner in Towpath Walk, Carnforth, between 2pm and 2.30pm on Sunday, July 8. When the owner returned 15 minutes later, the kayak had been stolen and its paddle left neatly stacked on a remaining boat.

Police welcome sentence given to Carnforth sex offender

22/3/12: Police have welcomed the sentence given to a Carnforth man who was jailed for eight years for sexual activity with a child. Alan Spragg, 25, of Pond Street, Carnforth appeared at Preston Crown Court yesterday (21 March) after pleading guilty to two counts of attempted grooming; causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and engaging in sexual activity with a child.

Police appeal for missing Silverdale man

17/3/12: Lancashire police are appealing for help to try to find a man who has gone missing. Keith Smith, 64, of Challan Hall Mews, Silverdale was last seen at the Wheatsheaf pub in Beetham at about 2.15pm on Tuesday 13th March. Mr Smith’s black VW Polo car was found abandoned on a car park on Shore Road, Carnforth this morning (Friday, March 16th) by a member of the public.

Charity Box Thefts: New CCTV Released

6/2/12: Police are again appealing for help tracing a man they want to interview in connection with a number of charity box thefts - relasing new CCTV images. Police would like the public's help identifying an elderly man they need identify after at least a dozen charity boxes were stolen from shops across Lancashire, Cumbria and North Yorkshire.

Yorkshire terrier stolen in Carnforth burglary

24/8/11: Police are appealing for information following a burglary in Carnforth in which a Yorkshire terrier was stolen. Although the dog has now been found, items stolen in the raid are still being sought. Between 10.30am and 1.15pm on Friday 19th August, somebody broke into a house on Main Street in Whittington.
