Hill’s Pet Nutrition cat food pouches recalled over vomiting and diarrhoea risk

13/5/16: Hill’s Pet Nutrition is conducting a voluntary recall of limited production lots of certain Hill’s cat food pouches. The earliest these products were available for sale in the UK and the Republic of Ireland is December 2015. Due to an error by an ingredient supplier, the products being recalled contain high levels of iron.

Cats shot on Marsh Estate, Police investigating

30/10/14: Lancaster Police have received two reports of three cats being harmed or shot from residents of the Marsh Estate, Lancaster. "This is a cruel and completely unacceptable crime which has left pet owners feeling unsettled," said a spokesperson, who also pointed out that this is an unusual offence which will likely surprise and disgust local residents.

Pets Dumped in Local Bottle Banks

18/3/09: Locals are being urged to check their nearby bottle and recycling banks before they dispose of their empties - because there could be more inside them than reusables. This week's Morecambe Visitor reports that pet rabbits, kittens and a guinea pig have all been dumped in local bottle banks, which then ate their own fur and skin in a desperate bid to survive.
