30/5/17: Labour Parliamentary candidate for Lancaster & Fleetwood Cat Smith has promised to oppose cuts to local school budgets if re-elected. Planned Government changes to school budgets will result in a loss of £76m to Lancashire schools, with Lancaster's losses higher than the national average.

Free course hopes to ease worries about older drivers

3/4/14: Lancashire County Council is highlighting that a free course for older drivers may be the answer to families' concerns about an elderly relative driving.

Lancaster University in Top Ten for employable graduates

17/8/12: Lancaster University is in the top ten universities for employment after graduation according to figures from the Higher Education Statistical Agency. In total, over 94 per cent of graduates from 2010/11 were in a job or further study six months after graduation, above the benchmark figure from Hesa of 91 per cent.
