22/3/18: Two vacancies have been created on Lancaster City Council following the resignation of two Labour councillors. Lucy Atkinson and Sam Armstrong, who both represented the University and Scotforth Rural ward, have resigned their seats.

29/9/17: Labour has gained a seat on Lancaster City Council following Thursday's Halton-with-Aughton ward by-election. While the turnout was much*+ lower than in the 2015 election, in which Labour came 4th, they nearly doubled their vote, giving Kevin Frea a majority of just 2 votes.

Skerton West By-election Result: Labour holds

8/9/17: Jean Parr has won the Skerton West by-election, polling 512 of the 833 votes cast and making the seat a Labour hold.

Conservative Councillor blames Labour for lack of flood assistance measures

5/8/17: City By-election news: Conservative Cllr Charlie Edwards has called Lancaster's Labour-run City Council's efforts to assist businesses & residents in recent floods 'a complete failure'. The City Council has explained that Edwards' Conservative County Council is actually the lead flood authority.
