Thursday 5 June: Hard Times

Hard Times comprises Andrew Service (bass), Gordon Johnston (banjo, mandolin, guitar) and Laurie Johnston (everything) – all superb musicians playing a mixture of traditional and modern tunes and songs from the UK, the USA and Europe. They are some of the finest acoustic musicians around, they always present dazzling entertainment, and we give ‘em to you for free!

Thursday 12 June: Brodbeck and Castle

Formerly known as Wayfarer, this duo comprises Hugh Castle and Tristan Brodbeck who sing and play their own compositions – “songs about everyday things and situations”. They are now firm favourites in the District, and rightly so. Strong singing and harmonies, and the thoughtful accompaniment of excellent songs are the hallmarks are their performance. Thursday 19 June: John Harper

Another welcome visit from this exceptionally talented guitarist and singer. John Harper is a regular Lancaster entertainer who always dazzles everyone with his powerful renditions of British and American contemporary songs. Music to make you sing and reaffirm that the best live music is to be heard here!
His latest CD “Losing The Colours” has recently been published and will be on sale tonight.

Thursday 26 June: Hellhound Rex and Rob Bee

An evening of blues and associated music for you. Rex (guitar, vocals) and Rob (keyboard, saxophone) will perform a mixture of pre-war (Robert Johnson, Big Bill Broonzy) blues, foot-stompin’ Memphis jugband music and post-war blues songs by the likes of Terry/McGee and Jimmy Reed. These guys sing and play like they mean it so sit back, grab an armful of ale and enjoy.
