Heritage Open Days is a 4-day festival running until this Sunday 11 September celebrating England’s architecture and culture. Visitors are allowed free access to interesting properties that are either not usually open, or would normally charge an entrance fee. Heritage Open Days also includes tours, events and activities that focus on local architecture and culture. This year St John the Evangelist’s Church in particular will feature not only a vintage bike exhibition, but heritage music performances by Gladly Solemn Sound and The Brewer’s Apron, beautifully demonstrating the building’s renowned accoustic qualities.

Cockersands Abbey Lancaster. Open Sat + Sun: 12 – 5pm. Sunday: 1200-1700
