1/8/12: A teenager who has spurred others youngsters into acting in an unruly manner has been banned from a Heysham estate. 16-year-old Jaydon Garthwaite, of Rothesay Road, Heysham, was given a two year anti-social behaviour order after Lancaster Magistrates Court heard how he had caused a catalogue of problems for local residents and shop staff.

27/2/12: Lancaster detectives are appealing for information following a disturbance in Heysham earlier this month. At around 6.00pm on Friday 10th February, a fight broke out between around 20 people outside a house on Sycamore Gardens.

Heysham drug dealer ordered to pay back over £8,000 at POCA hearing

22/2/12: A local drug dealer has been ordered to pay back over £8,000 – or face further time in jail – at a Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) hearing. 42-year-old Adam Wilson, of Heysham Mossgate Road, Heysham, was jailed in January last year for 30 months for possession with intent to supply cocaine.

Seaton Parish Council says No to Nuclear Dump

21/2/12: Seaton Parish Council - the council of “One of the largest villages in England” voted to reject continuing on any further steps to a geological nuclear dump 1000 metres deep by 26 kiometres square last night. Seaton joins Cockermouth Town Council and Above Derwent Parish Council in emphatically rejecting the government’s orchestrated campaign to turn Cumbria into a nuclear sacrifice zone.

Appeal after woman is sexually assaulted in Morecambe

8/12/11: CCTV taken from a filling station on Oxcliffe RoadPolice are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a woman was sexually assaulted as she sat at a bus stop in Morecambe last month. The offence is alleged to have taken place on Fairfield Road at Heysham between 6pm and 11.15pm on 19th November when a 26-year-old woman was approached by a man as she sat at a bus stop.

Cyclist seriously injured in Heysham

18/11/11: Police are appealing for witnesses after a 28-year-old cyclist suffered serious injuries following a road traffic collision in Heysham. At 11.59pm on Saturday 12th November, a pedal cyclist and a silver Citroen Saxo were involved in a collision at the junction of Kingsway and Bleasdale Grove.

Woman’s late husband’s watch stolen in Morecambe

29/9/11: Police are appealing for information after a watch was stolen from a house in Morecambe which belonged to the owner’s late husband. Between 12.30pm and 3.45pm on Tuesday 13th September, somebody broke into a house on Sefton Road, Heysham and stole a Samsung television as well as an Omega watch. The watch belonged to the female owner’s late husband and is of huge sentimental value to her.

Appeal after Heysham HGV theft

12/7/11: Police are appealing for information and have released CCTV images following the theft of an HGV unit and a trailer in Heysham last month. At around 11.50pm on the 26th June, a man stole an HGV unit from a business premises on Heysham Business Park. The man walked into the office of Hancocks and took a key for one of their HGV units.

Appeal after violent Heysham robbery

26/5/11: Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a violent robbery at an address in Heysham on Sunday. The offence took place at approximately 11.00p on 22nd May at an address on Robin Crescent, when four men wearing dark clothing and balaclavas forced their way into a house and threatened the occupants with a weapon, described as a machete.

Cannabis factory found in Heysham house

21/9/10: Police discovered a 73-plant cannabis factory at a house in Heysham after residents told officers that they suspected drugs were being sold from the address. A drugs warrant was executed at the property in Bowland Road by operational support unit officers at 6.40pm on Sunday. Two of the property’s three bedrooms had been converted into a cannabis cultivation set up.

Appeal after pedestrian struck by car

8/7/10: Local poise are appealing for information after a 15-year-old pedestrian was struck by a car in Heysham on Monday. The teenage boy was walking on Oxcliffe Road, Heysham, on the railway bridge, at around 4 – 4.30pm on Monday July 5, when he was struck by a small black car. The teen attended Royal Lancaster Infirmary, having suffered minor injuries to his right leg.
