4/3/13: Police have released a CCTV image of a man they are looking to speak to in connection with an assault in Lancaster last month. At around 3.15am on Friday 1st February, a 20 year old student was stood with friends on Horse Shoe Corner in the city centre when a man from another group punched him in the face causing him to sustain a fractured jaw.

25/1/13: Lancaster police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in an unprovoked attack in the city centre. Around 2.00 am on Sunday 16th December 2012, a 52-year-old man was walking along Market Street when he noticed a man and woman arguing on Horseshoe Corner.

Council gets back to work on Market Square improvements

6/1/12: Lancaster City Council will restart work on its Square Routes initiative next week, an innovative project aimed at revitalising Lancaster's City Centre. Work on Lancaster’s Market Square, the first stage of the project, will begin on Monday witth the completion of resurfacing work. New lighting columns will also be installed at the centre of the square.
