1/9/16: Local history and culture will come to life again this year when buildings of every age, style and function throw open their doors during this year's Heritage Open Days. Heritage Open Days are England’s largest heritage festival in celebrating diverse architecture, culture and history. This year there are an amazing array of exciting events running from 8th - 11th September.

Great North West Vegan Festival comes to Lancaster this Saturday

5/6/14: This Saturday Lancaster will host the huge annual North West Vegan Festival across two venues, Lancaster Town Hall (LA1 1PJ) and the Gregson Centre (LA1 3PY), with 115 stalls selling a wide variety of vegan products and promoting critical animal welfare issues. The festival will have 90 stalls at the Town Hall, and 25 at the Gregson Centre.

World Cup Flag Fever at Lancaster Town Hall

11/6/10: Lancaster City Council is flying the flag of St. George at both town halls in support of England's World Cup bid in South Africa. The result of a recent decision to fly the England flag during major sporting events means the flag will be flying high in Lancaster and Morecambe on the days that the England football team will be playing.

Choral concert helps to celebrate town hall centenary

15/1/10: Lancaster City Council will celebrate the 100th birthday of Lancaster Town Hall on Friday 29th January with a very special concert. The very first public concert to be performed in the town hall to celebrate its opening in 1909 was by the Lancaster and District Male Voice Choir. A century later and they have been invited back to perform.

13/1/10: The Mayor of Lancaster, Councillor Roger Sherlock, would like to invite people to join him for afternoon tea next week. The mayor will be holding ‘at home’ events at The Platform in Morecambe on Wednesday 20th January from 3.00pm to 6.00pm, and Lancaster Town Hall on Saturday 23rd January from 10.00am to 1.00pm.
