Free Easter treats this Saturday!

This Easter Saturday visitors to the market are in for an eggstra-special treat as Traders will be handing out free mini-eggs to all customers with full-sized Easter eggs for every 25th visitor through the door!

Built in 1759, the Assembly Rooms on King Street provided a venue for balls and concerts for Lancaster’s elite to raise money to support the adjoining Almshouses.

New Cafe

Today the Assembly Rooms provides the perfect venue for a trading hall selling  bespoke arts and crafts, period, vintage and retro clothing and accessories, antiques, collectables and curiosities.  The building also houses a new café selling home-cooked meals and snacks and a range of gluten free and vegan treats to a growing customer base.

Trader Fiona Gordon, who sells books, jigsaws, games and greetings cards, said: “The historic Assembly Rooms Market offers local small businesses a great opportunity to make themselves known by showcasing their goods or skills in a warm and friendly trading environment.

“Assembly Room stallholders are immensely passionate about what they offer their customers and if we don’t stock exactly what you want, we will do our very best to source it or make it for you.

I would encourage anyone considering joining us to come and have a look at the place and if you make yourself known to us we will be more than happy to have a chat with you about trading at the Assembly Rooms – and the kettle is always on for a brew.”
