Lancaster's Christmas Shelter Appeal is launched

28/10/16: Lancaster District Homeless Action Service (LDHAS) are busy organising our City's Annual Christmas Shelter for Lancaster's homeless people. The hope is that they will be able to offer a warm, safe place to sleep for 5 nights - with cooked breakfast and supper, hot drinks, Christmas Day lunch and small Christmas gifts.

Samaritans to hold volunteer information evening

7/11/13: Lancaster District Samaritans are looking for volunteers for their listening and support service and also for backroom tasks and in their shop. They will be holding an information evening next Thursday at Lancaster Library for people to find out more about becoming a Samaritans volunteer.

Volunteers invited for for Park legacy 'Greenfingers' project

Fenham Carr in Williamson Park Greenfingers is a volunteer group in Williamson Park that is creating a lasting legacy for all park users by removing invasive plant species, re-introducing native species and creating new wildlife habitats.
