August's Lancaster First Friday brings kindness, music, dance and adventure!

Saturday, July 30, 2016 - 12:23: Ludus Youth Dance Company will be performing a 10 minute popup show in Market Square at 1pmFirst Friday returns to Lancaster City Centre on Friday 5th August bringing kindness, bicycles and adventure for adults and children alike. There will be lots of free activities for families to enjoy. Everything will not be as it seems at Lancaster City Museum as it is turned into The Imagination Museum.

HGV ban proposed for urban areas of Lancaster

Tuesday, July 26, 2016 - 16:20: Lancashire County Council has announced proposals to ban heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) over 7.5 tonnes from parts of Lancaster district. The plans aim to reduce the number of unsuitable vehicles making unnecessary journeys through the city centre and over the city's bridges, improving journey times, improving air quality and reducing traffic noise.

Pensioner dies after Bolton-le-Sands collison

Morecambe's Attic Door Prductions bring Wind in the Willows to Lancaster Castle

Police Appeal for witnesses after M6 collision

Monday, July 11, 2016 - 14:16: Police are appealing for witnesses after a car overturned on the M6 near Carnforth. At around 1.15pm on Sunday 10th July a Peugeot 207 was travelling in the third lane of the northbound carriageway between Junction 35 and Burton in Kendal Services when it touched the central reservation before it collided with the nearside barrier and overturned.

Lancaster Maritime Museum Re-Opens (well, parts of it...)

Monday, July 4, 2016 - 16:18: Lancaster Maritime Museum has partly reopened to the public after being closed for essential maintenance and to repair flood damage caused last winter. This attraction, based at the former Custom House on St. George's Quay, was closed last October. The warehouse part of the museum re-opened on Saturday 2nd July.
