Christmas Film at the Priory: It's a Wonderful Life

The Dukes is offering a Christmas gift to film fans – a screening of a festive favourite at Lancaster’s Priory church.

The special screening of It’s A Wonderful Life(U) takes place in the beautiful setting of the historic church on December 16.

Starring James Stewart and Donna Reed, It’s A Wonderful Life tells the story of George Bailey who is contemplating suicide one Christmas Eve until he meets apprentice angel Clarence who shows him what a difference he has made to people’s lives.

It’s A Wonderful Life will also be screened at The Dukes on December 23 as part of the cinema’s annual selection of seasonal favourites.

Other Christmas films on at the Dukes are: The Muppet Christmas Carol(U) on December 15 and 16 followed by the classic festive romantic farce, The Apartment(PG) starring Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine on December 19.

The Man Who Invented Christmas(PG) is a new film about Charles Dickens starring Dan Stevens and Christopher Plummer which is screened on December 22 followed by Die Hard(15) on the same night.

There will also be a screening of A Nightmare Before Christmas(PG) on December 23 and a recorded version of the Royal Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker on December 10.

Tickets for the Priory screening of It’s A Wonderful Life are priced £8/£7(concessions) and are £13.50/£12.50 for The Nutcracker.

Prices for The Muppet Christmas Carol and A Nightmare Before Christmas are £2.50 and for all the other festive films are £6.50/£5.50 concessions.
