The Kings and Queens of Rock, Pop & Soul

Lancaster Priory Church
Leeds Contemporary Pop Choir
Lancaster Priory Church

The Kings and Queens of Rock, Pop & Soul will reign supreme at Lancaster Priory Church this March.

Songs made famous by Whitney Houston, Lionel Richie and Beyoncé will be performed by Leeds College of Music Contemporary Pop Choir on March 21.

It’s a return visit for this high-octane vocal ensemble formed in 2014 who specialise in showcasing unique, original and dynamic arrangements of rock and pop songs.

This new concert is a celebration of inspirational artists, both past and present, and will also feature original compositions and arrangements by singers in the choir.

The day before the concert, the choir’s founder and president of the British Voice Association, Craig Lees, and pianist Declan Davies will lead the Children’s Choir at Lancaster Priory.

They will also take masterclasses with pupils from Central Lancaster High School, Lancaster Royal Grammar School, Ripley St Thomas CE High School and Lancaster Girls Grammar School.

A workshop in Ripley School chapel will involve around 200 young people from the four schools joining together to learn a song and some choruses. Those participating will be invited to rehearse with the Pop Choir on the day of the concert, attend the event for free and join in with the performance.

The Kings and Queens of Rock, Pop & Soul takes place at 7.30pm and tickets are priced £8 adults, £5 under 18s. To book, visit:

This concert is just one of many music events taking place at Lancaster Priory this spring including a concert by Leeds Male Voice Choir on May 23.
