Take these broken wings

Venue:
The Gregson Centre
Organisers:
Critical and Creative Approaches to Mental Health Practice (CCrAMHP)

You are invited to a free community screening of Daniel Mackler's feature-length documentary: Take These Broken Wings, at the Gregson Centre, Lancaster, on Monday 14 May from 6–8pm.  Organised by CCrAMHP Lancaster in association with Asylum, the magazine for democratic psychiatry.

The documentary shows that people can recover fully from schizophrenia without psychiatric medication.  The film centres on the lives of two women, both of whom recovered from severe schizophrenia.  Their accounts are interwoven with interviews with giants in the field of schizophrenia recovery and over 100 clips of strangers filmed in New York City's Washington Square Park who share their views on schizophrenia.

Critical and Creative Approaches to Mental Health Practice aims to promote dialogue about mental health.  This is the first of a series of three screenings planned for 2018.

Doors open: 6.00pm  Film begins: 6.15pm  Discussion: 7.30pm and will continue in the Gregson bar.   Everybody welcome.  Contributions to the cost of room hire will be gratefully recieved.
