Lancaster’s Kashish Indian restaurant is to host a special charity evening later this month in support of Help for Heroes – and it has the backing of both local MP Eric Ollerenshaw and the Prime Minister, who has donated a prize.
The price of a ticket includes a meal and entry into a special raffle at the end of the night – and we’re told there are already some great prizes, including a signed bottle of whisky from Prime Minister David Cameron.
MMA fighter Carl Noon will be attending the night, as will Bay Radio’s Danny Matthews, who will be drawing the raffle.
The Kashish opened on Parliament Street last year after a £300,000 makeover into an amazing looking 120-seater halal restaurant by three brothers whose family owned the previously disused building – Mohammed Dilpazir, Mohammed Sagir and Mac Khan.
The architecturally significant premises – originally designed in a Venetian style by renowned designers E G Paley of Paley and Austin Architects, who built the building in 1870 for marble merchant Richard Fawcett – occupy the former Nawab Balti House, which closed in 1997 after the brothers uncle, who ran it, decided to close it and move away from the area.
“This building was empty and was literally a shell when we decided to begin work on it, Mac told Asian Image last year. “Every part of the building had work undertaken on it. When we were looking to redesign it we decided to make something unique which would also have the wow factor.
“It was important though to maintain parts of the traditional look of the building whilst at the same time bringing it into the twenty-first century.
“We have to say it has been amazing journey for us. When we first decided to take this project on we didn’t know what to expect, but the hard work has paid off and many people have commended us for bring back to life this magnificent building.”

Please note the Kashish does not serve alcohol patrons are welcome to bring their own wines etc and so people can feel free to bring their own on the night.
