Police officers searching for missing 61-year-old wind surfer Giles Stothert recovered a body on Middleton Sands this morning.
Police were called at around 4.45pm on Sunday 25 January to Glasson Dock, Lancaster, following reports of concern for the safety of Mr Stothert, who lived in Saltcote.
The local man, aged in his sixties, was last seen by friends in the sea at around 4.20pm but failed to come out of the water.
A joint search operation was launched with the Coastguard, RNLI, Mountain Rescue Team and Police air support to search for the missing man.
