Lancaster Jazz Festival (lancasterjazz.com) are delighted to announce that British Jazz supergroup 'Dinosaur' will be headlining on festival Saturday at the Dukes in The Round. The Festival runs from Friday 15 - Sunday 17 September, with dozens of renowned musicians performing across multiple venues in Lancaster & Morecambe. Aside from the headliners, all the weekend's gigs are free and all offer a rare opportunity to see some of the UK's most talented artists in a friendly and hospitable Lancaster venue.

This year a bigger-than-ever Festival Team has been working flat out to produce a programme that delivers even more than in previous years.  They've been listening to hundreds of artists from around the country to put together the most exciting collection of emerging jazz musicians working in the UK at the moment.

To get you warmed up, The Elec Trio will be performing at The Hall in Lancaster on Saturday 2 September at 7.30pm (Tickets £5 booking and info here).  Lancaster Brewery is hosting a Youth Jazz Night on Friday 8 September (Tickets £5 book here) and on Thursday 14 September you're invited to join the Lancaster Jazz Festival Binge featuring three rooms of live music at the Gregson from 7pm (Tickets £5 on the door).

On  top of that, and thanks to pioneering support from Help Musicians UK, and with guidance from previous artists, audiences, members and partners, they are now working with every artist in this programme over the long term.  This means that in addition to booking amazing performances at the festival, the Team will be working with artists to produce: new audio and video recordings, brand new artistic works, new collaborations between musicians and a whole bunch of other things  that are only ideas at the moment.

Lancaster Jazz Festival 2017 will be a hive of activity, with not only  the packed programme of performances listed in the programme (which you can download here) but a  whole host of additional events, behind the scenes moments, and artist development opportunities. Keep an eye on lancasterjazz.com for the very  latest.  So, whether you join the Lancaster Jazz Festival for cups of tea sitting in deckchairs on Sunday afternoon in Sun Square, electric jazz rock in the Lancaster Brewery, or at The Dukes for an utterly sublime headline performance from Dinosaur, we really hope you enjoy it.

Tickets to see Dinosaur are priced from just £10-£20 dependent on seating. It's sure to be sold out so book your tickets now at https://dukes-lancaster.org/
