Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in broad daylight in Lancaster.

At 2pm on Tuesday 21st May, a 69-year-old man was walking along Queen Street when he was he was confronted by another man who was aggressive towards him, before punching him in the middle of his back.

Sergeant Guy Hamlett said: “This was an unpleasant experience for the man involved; fortunately he didn’t suffer serious injury.

“If anybody has any information about this incident they are asked to call police.”

The alleged assailant is described as a white man, of muscular build, with cropped dark brown hair, in his mid-20s to early 30s, slightly tanned with stubble and was wearing a dark sleeveless top.
