The Silverdale and Arnside Arts and Crafts Trail takes place next weekend, spanning 28 venues and involving many local makers, all exhibiting their work around an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The weekend-long event (Friday 24th – 26th June) offers a jam-packed weekend of local art, craft, artist demonstrations and guided workshops. Set in the stunning coastal landscapes of the Arnside and Silverdale AONB, there’s plenty to be discovered both in and outside the many venues.

Silverdale and Arnside Arts and Crafts Trail - 24th - 26th June 2022

More than 60 exhibitors and over 75 artists and makers from the local area and beyond invite you to share in and enjoy their creative practices. Their work represents a range of disciplines from jewellery, glass, painting and printing to metal work, textiles, clay and wood, set across 28 venues, as unique as our artists.

From church buildings and private homes, to celebrated gardens, village halls, local schools and nature reserves, you’re invited you into the very heart of the Arnside and Silverdale community. There are also opportunities to get hands on with ceramic, textile and card making workshops.

Be sure to take a trip, too, along the outdoor trail in the wonderful Arts and Crafts Mawson garden in Silverdale, currently being restored.

The Trail is a community event, organised by volunteers encouraging “ownership” by all the participants.

Exhibitors and others work co-operatively, contributing to tasks and sharing their knowledge in order to positively promote and support this Art and Craft event.

The Trail aims to encourage creativity within the community, promote and showcase the work of amateurs and professionals within the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and, to bring a wide range of arts and crafts within everyone’s experience.

Anyone who creates their own work can apply to be an exhibitor. The organisers also welcome interest from individuals wishing to do demonstrations and workshops. Resident exhibitors tend to locate their own exhibition venue, be it home, studio or workshop and public venue space is shared between residents and guests in order to provide variety and interest.
