Local animal lovers have rallied to help local charity Animal Care, after the organisation announced it was at maximum capacity in all areas, its kennels and cattery bursting with animals in need of a new home.
“We are receiving a record number of calls and emails daily from people who need our help but we just don’t have the space,” the organisation announced on its Facebook page, recently.
With costs rocketing – the charity receives no support from the government – while appealing for people to take on some of the animals seeking new homes, they also asked for food donations, and there has been a massive response.
“As always our supporters have been absolutely amazing,” the charity responded. “Thank you so much to each and every one of you that has made a donation of food for our animals we really really appreciate your kindness.”
Based on Blea Tarn Road, Animal Care works hard to help find unwanted and abandoned animals find new homes. They rescue dogs, cats, rabbits, small animals, birds, and many more.
They always have animals in need of new homes and appointments can be booked any day between 10.00am – 3.00pm for rehoming.
