Woman, 85, assaulted with paving stone in Heysham

19/6/15: Police are investigating the serious assault of an 85-year-old woman in Heysham. Officers were called by the ambulance service at around 11.45am today (Thursday 18 June) to the report of a woman suffering a serious head injury after being assaulted by a man with what is thought to be a paving stone at an address on School Road.

Police appeal after attempted murder at Heysham's Ocean Edge caravan park

22/9/14: Police are appealing for information after a woman was seriously injured when she was assaulted at Ocean Edge caravan park in Heysham. Three other people, including one man who is fighting for his life in Royal Preston Hospital, were also hurt in a series of road accidents which followed. A man has been arrested in connection with the incidents.

Man charged with attempted murder of Heysham woman

4/5/14: Jonny MAUGHAN, 41 of Robinson Place in St Helens was last night charged with attempted murder. He has been remanded in custody to appear before Preston Magistrates Court on Monday morning, 5th May. The charge relates to an incident that took place late Friday evening at an address on Charlbury Grove, Heysham where a twenty-five year old woman was found with multiple stab wounds.

A public vigil is to be held at Heysham Nuclear Power station on Saturday, March 8th, from 12 noon until 1pm to mark the 3rd anniversary of the Fukishima nuclear disaster and to draw attention to government predictions about how climate change and associated sea level rises and storm surges could affect Heysham's nuclear power stations.

Man who robbed same Heysham house twice jailed for two years

9/8/13: A man has been jailed at Preston Crown Court yesterday for over two years for burgling a house in Heysham - twice. On the morning of 19th June 2013 Gary Nelson, 23, of no fixed address forced entry to the rear of a semi-detached house on Redshank Drive. Once inside he stole jewellery, a games console, i-pod and mobile phone.

Police in Heysham give out shed alarms to crack down on burglaries

18/6/13: A neighbourhood police officer in Heysham has given out shed alarms to allotment owners following a spate of burglaries. Two sheds at the Greenfingers allotment site on Smithy Lane were broken into back in March despite them being secured with padlocks. The thieves got away with small pieces of equipment.

Moped theft in Heysham

20/3/13: Police are appealing for information after a moped was stolen from outside an address in Heysham. The theft took place around 5.30pm on Tuesday 19th March when the moped was stolen from the front of a house on Banks Crescent. The moped is described as being a Generic Trigger MB in black with silver and white stickers all over the body work.

Appeal following indecent exposure in Heysham

5/3/13: Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a man indecently exposed himself to a dog walker in Heysham. The offence took place around 12.10pm on 1st March 2013 when the 24 year old victim was walking her dog along an alley off Lordsome Road when a man has exposed himself to her.

Gang jailed for over 34 years following poker game robbery

30/10/12: Five men involved in a robbery where poker players were threatened with machetes have been jailed for a total of 34 years and seven months. A group of men had been playing poker at an address on Robin Crescent, Heysham, on Sunday 22nd May 2011, when they were targeted by the gang, who had been made aware of the game through their associates.
