Police are appealing for information after a generator was stolen from a United Utilities storage unit in Lancaster.
It is believed the storage unit on Moorside Road was broken into sometime between the 7th and the 12th of November and the three phase Honda generator worth £1,000 was taken.
PC Peter Bennett investigating the theft said, “Not only is this a very expensive piece of equipment to replace, it is an industrial standard generator and could be dangerous if it was to be plugged into a residential premises or caravan, it would be far too powerful and would damage the electrics.
“It is likely that the offenders would have needed a vehicle to remove this generator, so we would appeal to anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area around those dates to come forward and contact police.”
Anyone with any information about the theft is asked to contact police by calling 101. Alternatively, information can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or on-line at Crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
