County Councillors call for government to release DEFRA fracking report

Wednesday, February 25, 2015 - 23:36: Today Lancashire County Council have rejected a planning application by Cuadrilla for a further prospective fracking site at Singleton. The ruling is separate to the Cuadrilla applications for two fracking sites at Preston New Road and Roseacre Wood which the council deferred last month following legal advice, pending additional public consultation.

Appeal after car failed to stop following collision with cyclist in Morecambe

Thursday, February 19, 2015 - 16:56: Police are appealing for information after a cyclist was injured in a fail to stop collision. The incident happened at around 5.10pm on Monday 9th February close to the junction where Northgate meets Middlegate in Morecambe. The 24-year-old cyclist was travelling along Northgate when it is thought that a vehicle has collided with the rear of his bike.

£311,000pa in unclaimed benefits found for local over-75s by Welfare Rights campaign
