A Business Recovery Centre has been set up to provide help and advice to flood hit businesses in Lancaster.
Based in Lancaster City Council’s CityLab building in Dalton Square, the aim of the centre is to help businesses get back to normal operations as soon as possible.
Advice will be on offer from Lancashire County Council, who are leading the recovery efforts, Lancaster City Council, the fire service and other public agencies.
Included in the advice on offer will be access to business compensation schemes that may be available to those affected, how to dispose of contaminated food/equipment safely, and returning to normal business.
The centre will open tomorrow (Thursday 10th December) and will be open on week days from 10am to 4pm as long as it is required.

The city council is also providing help for city centre businesses to recover by providing free parking in all city council car parks over two weekends in the lead up to Christmas.
Free parking will be available all day Saturday and Sunday on December 12/13 and 19/20 to help our district recover following the floods and power cuts.
This offer is available in Morecambe as well as Lancaster.
Coun Eileen Blamire, leader of Lancaster City Council, said: “We’ve all been badly hit by the recent floods and power cuts, but businesses have particularly suffered.
“Not being able to trade on one of their busiest days of the year on the run up to Christmas has been devastating, let alone the damage that was caused to equipment and stock. The recovery process will take some time yet but this offer will go some way to helping in these difficult times.”
