Lancaster University’s Live at LICA are looking for local people with tales to tell about the Morecambe Winter Gardens. Do you have any special memories of the place? Did you, or someone in your family, work there? Do you remember the night that it closed?

Artists Jonathan Raisin and Elizabeth Willow are working with Live at LICA to create a show called ‘Sea Breeze’ about the life of the Winter Gardens. It will be shown there as part of the Seaside Festival (Saturday 31st August and Sun 1st September), and are keen to gather stories from people who know the building.

On Wednesday 22nd May, the team will be in Morecambe Library from 1-4pm collecting stories. They’d love you to come along for a cup of tea, meet the artists and perhaps old friends, and share your stories.

• If you can’t come along but have a memory you would like to share then please contact Alice Booth via an email (alice@liveatlica.org) or post (Alice Booth, LICA, Lancaster University LA1 4YW).
